In what will easily become the best marketing move of the century, Belkin was recently caught red-handed buying positive reviews for one of their god awful routers.
Unfortunately, they had to do the least ballsiest thing on the planet by pussying out and removing the ads for fear of a consumer backlash. They also released a shitty letter talking about their ethics and standards.
Engadget also made reference to my favorite piece of bitch-slap that’s still hidden in the letter (emphasis added):
So, it was with great surprise and dismay when we discovered that one of our employees may have posted a number of queries on the Amazon Mechanical Turk website inviting users to post positive reviews of Belkin products in exchange for payment.
They do know that people can screen capture, right?
Either way, it’s still funny shit.
